medicalstaff.islandhealth.ca

Our website was developed in partnership with patients and residents of Vancouver Island and the surrounding regions. It's accessible, mobile friendly and flexible to help us evolve with our communities as we work towards excellent health and care for everyone, everywhere, every time.

Come visit the new sites and update your bookmarks. This www. tỷ lệ kèo bóng đá trực tuyến www.rotundamaris.net site will continue to be available for one month so that our staff and partners have time to update their links to the new site. Norovirus

Noroviruses are a group of viruses that cause acute gastroenteritis, also known as stomach flu. This is not influenza or the flu, which is a respiratory infection caused by the influenza virus.

Norovirus outbreaks occur in BC communities every year. Outbreaks of illness are common in long term care homes, daycare centres, schools, hospitals and on cruise ships.

The virus can be spread among people if they do not wash their hands or if someone with this illness handles food, water or ice. Norovirus can also be found in the vomit and diarrhea of people who are sick.

Symptoms usually appear within 24-48 hours after exposure to the virus. Although there is no treatment for this illness, most people recover in two or three days.

For more information, please visit the links on this page or talk to HealthLink BC by dialing 8-1-1.
