Alegha van Hanuse

Alegha van Hanuse— South Island Employment Advisor

Alegha is from the Wuikinuxv Nation in Rivers Inlet, British Columbia and  is a grateful visitor on the traditional territories of the Lkwungen people. Prior to joining  Island Health, Alegha worked with the University of Victoria as an Aboriginal Mentorship Coordinator and at Literacy Victoria as the Aboriginal Literacy Coordinator. Alegha’s formal education includes a Bachelor’s degree in social work and she has been working in Aboriginal adult education, literacy and employment for several years.

Michelle Noullet Morfitt

Michele van der Wielen - North Island Employment Advisor

Michele is Cree, French and English, and is a proud member of the Waterhen Lake Cree Nation in Saskatchewan.  Michele has lived and worked in Coast Salish, Nuu-chah-nulth, and Kwakwaka’wakw territories her whole life. Michele holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in Sociology and has been active in Aboriginal initiatives involving youth, education, and community for over fifteen years. She has also worked with Indigenous peoples in Guatemala and Aotearoa (New Zealand).
